Lalit Kaul writes in depth: I recollect it was in 1969 when my late father Sh. S.N. KAUL was on deputation at / to the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, Pune from July 1968 to July 1970 (2 years) from the Military Schools – at one of the memorial / remembrance functions in the NDA my father informed the then NDA Commandant Rear Admiral R.N. Batra, Dy. Commandant Colonel Dhingra and Col. incharge Administration Colonel Ajit Singh that Captain Gurbachan Singh Salaria PVC (P) was his student at KGRIMC / KGS Nowgong, Madhya Pradesh in 1952 / 1953.
My sole aim and main objective when I initiated the formation of the FIRST association of WE GEORGIANS on 18th October 1981 in Delhi was that WE GEORGIANS meet and recollect our great days at school and interact with each other and also keep a record of our school activities since their inception and highlight all its achievements.
The logo ‘Long Live the GEORGIAN SPIRIT’ was thought and drafted by me then and adopted later by the GEORGIAN ASSOCIATIONS.
It was during the period 1979 to 1981 when I was posted in Delhi and heading the branch of a Govt. of India PSU that I thought of having a GEORGIANS ASSOCIATION which I initiated before getting posted out in Dec. 1981 which latter grew and got registered as ‘GEORGIANS ASSOCIATION – DELHI’ in august 1987.
On my return to Delhi in 1993 after leaving my Govt. of India PSU and joining Reliance Industries at Delhi I was requested by Lt. General Ranjit Singh DYAL the Chairman of GAD and Colonel B.K. DAS, Chief Patron of GAD and other senior GEORGIANS in Delhi to join and take over as Secretary / Gen. Secretary of GAD which I did in January 2002 and was till March 2013 (11 years) till the passing away of Lt. Gen. Ranjit Singh Dyal in 2012.
